Kathy Hyatt - A good ending after being accused...

All of my wonderful friends through LS! Wow, what a LONG 3 years this has been for me and my family...and my friends. As most of you know, 2 years ago, I was arrested for child abuse...Shaken Baby Syndrome. There have been lots of ups and downs through the whole process, but I can rejoice in saying that God answered a BIG prayer last Thursday for us. We held a Frye Hearing against the prosecutor, who is the Attorney Generals Office of MO. With an expert witness, we argued the scientific and medical aspect of SBS. It had NEVER been done in the state of MO., so naturally, it had NEVER been won. We did this on June 21st, and last Thursday, I got the phone call I had been long waiting for...WE WON! Actually...MY FATHER WON for me! The judge has made a ruling that if the prosecutor decides to go on and take it to trial, there will be nothing said of SBS, and no experts can be called. He also ruled that if there is a (small) subdural and retinal bleeding and no evidence of cranial trauma, you can NOT say it is SBS. Basically, my Father cut the legs out from under the prosecution! YEAH GOD! Today , Friday the 16th, was the last day that the prosecution had to appeal the ruling, and he didn't do it! YEAH GOD AGAIN! It was a nerve racking day, but HE was with me the whole time! Now, we just wait! Wait to see what happens. We have a trail setting date set for Dec. 20th..yes, I know..Christmas~ But, it's ok. God will be with me just as much then as He has ever been. Between now and then, the prosecutor could dismiss, but we don't know if he will or not. He could wait until that day, and then dismiss. Honestly, we don't know what they are going to do, but I know someone who does know, and HE will handle it! I can not even tell you what all of your prayers, e-mails, cards, and phone calls have meant to me and my family! I would also like to thank Kyle and Patty for the nights of Pizza and Prayer, Marty, Lisa, and Cole for your nonending prayers, and Lisa for the phone calls of "what does this mean on a medical record." I would also like to thank Cole for being so sweet and always believing in my innocence! You all mean so much to me and my family, and we LOVE you guys so much! Please continue to pray for us, that GOD's name will be praised for every victory! That is all we desire, is that God be seen in us in the midst of the storm! All My Love - Kathy Hyatt
