OFFICIALLY RETIRED 08/23/2008

To those of you who might just NOW be learning of the retirement of Living Sacrifice, I'm sorry we missed seeing you! You can read the posts below to understand how it all came about. We are happily carrying on with life at home! It's been one week since our Homecoming Farewell concerts. In Kirksville on Fri., Aug. 22 we had a packed house at First Baptist (home church of Marty & Lisa Archer). People drove from Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Illinois, Arkansas, Nebraska and other states near and far to join us for two great evenings. We were so honored that so many people drove hours and days to be with us on these 2 special nights. In Macon...the same...packed house and even more to join us! In a 25-year span, you make lots of friends. God truly has blessed our lives with Living Sacrifice. We are excited to see how He will continue to work in our lives at home and in the new ministry areas we are involved in.
We've been on the road singing all our adult lives nearly every weekend. The typical things "normal" people do with their families, sitting in a Sunday School Class/Small Group, worshipping from a pew, going to a Ladies Night Out, fishing with the guys, boating on a holiday, or just being with family and friends, we've missed out on. Now...God has appointed us time for those things. AND....we are finding our place in serving in our church, community and in our friendships! We're very excited. Check out our Web Album from Homecoming & Farewell 2008!

I enjoyed your last official concert that I got to attend on Aug 22, 2008 in Kirksville, MO. It was awesome to get to see you all and to hear the next generation of The Imperials. I got to see one generation of that group back in 1989 at Highland High School in Ewing, MO. They were awesome then and continue to carry on the legacy of the gospel. I appreciate so much the chance that I had to get to know all of you and I listen to your music a lot. When I am feeling down about life, I just remember my favorite song(What a Difference a Day Makes) and it lifts me up again. Thank you so much for your ministry. I pray that God will bless you in your retirement from the music ministry and will continue to show you ways to influence your families, friends, communities, this world for Jesus. Even if it is on a little less grand scale. I miss all of you and you have a special place in my heart always. It awesome to know that even if we don't meet again on this earth, we will meet again at God's Lighthouse in the sky. So keep "sailing on". Love ya!
